The NIPBA enjoyed a successful weekend at the Irish Championships by securing three titles in the Open Singles, Pairs and Senior Fours.
Mark Wilson won the Singles title with victories over D.J. Wilson and Noel Graham. The final was a tense affair, but Mark showed great character to overcome an earlier defeat in the Fours final to edge Noel Graham 21-20.
Ballymoney’s Aaron Tennant and Gary Kelly continued their impressive form defeating Eamon Carruth and Richard Leonard, then overcoming Dunbarton’s Conor McCarten and D.J. Wilson.
Colin Hogg’s Senior Four completed the title treble by fighting back from a 11-1 deficit to defeat the Falls rink skipped by Michael Morgan 26-19. Hogg had led Tommy Johnston, Willie Lennox and Eric Sands to a semi-final win over Frank McCarthy’s CYM rink.
The winners in the various disciplines will now represent Ireland in the British Isles Championships next June in Leamington Spa.
